‘- Sapphire is derived from the Greek word “sephros,” meaning power. It is known as Neelam in Urdu, Inder Neel in Sanskrit, and Yakut Azraq in Arabic Persian.

– It is a mineral type of aluminum oxide mainly found in blue and yellow color, excluding red. The pure turquoise blue color is the most desirable color, with some appearing reddish or violet-red in artificial light.

– Ancient books mention five types of sapphires which include Ruphali and crystal types, and Nari giving blue rays in sunlight. Generally, it is polished and used in jewelry.

– Neelam’s temperament is cold and dry, and its taste is dull. It is the third hardest stone after diamond and moissanite stone, with a hardness of nine.

– The chemical formula is Al?O?, the density ranges from 3.9 to 4.1, and the melting point is from 2030 to 2250. It is associated with the planet Saturn, symbolizing hard work and dedication.

– Astrologically beneficial for Burj Jadi and it is auspicious for Libra. Abundant deposits are found in the US state of Washington and various countries, including Afghanistan, Australia, Burma, China, India, Kenya, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
